Our Guitars

The “RattleCaster – Viper Series” is a brand new model for 2025 that we have only prototyped very recently. We have not yet constructed the options list for production models. We are currently hand-crafting this model as a full custom. We are actually designing them, one at a time, for specific customers.

FEATURES: The Tele-Style shape is certain, as is the Rail-Hammer neck pickup, the hot rail pickup in the bridge position, and the 4-way switch with special circuitry. Those features will not change. We can offer the guitar in the chrome/nickel hardware, or gold, as an ordering customer chooses. We originally intended to build it with the VegaTrem as standard equipment, but we were unable to obtain a solid commitment from the manufacturer to get the tailpieces. Consequently, the VegaTrem vibrato tailpiece will be an “as available”, extra cost option. We will also offer the genuine Bigsby, and a couple other tailpieces that are similar to the Bigsby. We will also offer the “RattleCaster” as a hardtail.
The snakeskin theme utilizes several different choices of material to fit the theme. We have a vinyl (like the prototype you saw in the ad) and various printed cloth patterns that get epoxy bonded to the body blank before carving. We have also considered textured vinyl, custom pressed leather that looks and feels like snakeskin, or skins, themselves. We are in talks with special suppliers that may be able to provide us with the actual processed skin of giant snakes. The smaller snakes do not provide a skin that is sufficiently wide to properly do the guitar top, unless it was done in a patchwork style, which we do not anticipate doing. As of this moment, we have not finalized the total specifications of that model, simply because all of the players that have expressed interest in the instrument, want it built differently, with no two requests being the same, with regard to the “skin” covering, scale length, and a few others. The removal of standardization drives up cost and lengthens the build time, considerably.

We had originally thought we would build them all the same, except for the color. After the response we have received, it appears that most players want the snake theme, but with a selection of different hardware. That would make it a full-custom, one-off, hand build. After hand-crafting electric guitars, here in the USA since 1961, we thought some new models would freshen up the line. We were not really prepared for the requests for odd variations.

We have another model, “The Frontiersman” that is now being announced in a Vintage Guitar Magazine ad.
Here at North American Instrument Company, Inc., we have been working to complete the very first two prototypes of our newest model series, "The Frontiersman - PineCaster Series". This retro-look series is reminiscent of the great 50s Western-style guitar designs. We believe that this is the guitar that never was . . . But should have been! These guitars have that played and worn look, just bustin' with character. The Western Orange prototype is the one we call "Rough Rider" and the Desert Blonde is called "Eldorado Gold". These are adventurous instruments that play even better than they look. These are the very first, they have Certificates of Authenticity, and are priced at only $3,500.00 each, plus shipping. For more information, contact us at NorthAmericanGuitars.com

Each one of these guitars will have a name, a “Birth Certificate” and a letter of authenticity. The two in the photos below are the very first and are almost complete.
